One of the nicest bicycle lanes in Copenhagen is surely the one that follows several kilometers along the artificial lakes from north to south along the west side of town. It creates a sort of bicycle highway. Yet the space is shared by pedestrians and outdoor cafe seating as well.
It apparently took years to approve as those living in the apartments that abut the space complained about safety issues. Seems like a lovely space to me for cyclists as well as joggers and pedestrians who get a separate pathway down the hill right next to the lake.
This cafe has set up a little “caution” sign (in yellow) warning for playing children, presumably geared for cyclists. This kid has clearly gotten there on his own two wheels and looks pretty proud of himself!
